Containers made of expanded polypropylene (PPE) are suitable for protecting foodstuffs from thermal stresses thanks to the insulating properties of the expanded polymer, which guarantees a thermal drop in compliance with UNI EN 12571:1999.
Polypropylene is CO2-expanded, CFC- and HCFC-free, and has no residual expansion agents. It has a closed-cell structure that gives it excellent energy dissipation characteristics in impacts and specific thermal resistance. 
Expanded Polypropylene is predominantly composed of air (depending on the density it can reach 98% air) and only 2% pure hydrocarbon structural material, it is 100% recyclable and endlessly recyclable without release of residues into the environment or loss of chemical-physical characteristics.
